13 Oct

The rice field behind us has been cut, and the rice harvested. The stalks that sheltered the grains are left behind, scattered across the field (to help fertilize future growth?), and a few stalks tied into teepee-like bundles and left standing. That’s it for the life cycle of the rice.

PS: This past long weekend I went to the remote isle of Yakushima, aka basically Paradise. Promise to update soon with pictures and maybe a report!

PPS: This was my 100th post! Huzzah!
