The old lady bar

3 Feb

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this yet! In our town, in Chikugo, there is a place we call the Old Lady Bar. It might have a real name, but we’ve never heard it and there’s no sign outside. It’s just a small, narrow bar, filled with old people, and it is the greatest bar in town.

A few weeks ago we went there for some karaoke and drinks, as we often do. Sometimes it’s empty; sometimes it’s filled with older retirees who might stay or might file out if we make too much noise. But that night, there were a lot of really fun older people. And somehow, the whole thing turned into a dance/karaoke party with old Japanese people!

So here are some pictures, of what we call the greatest bar on earth:

Old people can have fun too! Yeah!
BTW, what’s the history of Chikugo? How old is it?
There’s been some press about a volcano on Kyushu. Is it near Chikugo?

    Haha, yes they can!

The volcano is on the opposite end of the island; we’re the very North, it’s at the very south. Very, very far away.
