New bulletin board!

17 Dec

It’s Christmastime, so of course I did a seasonally appropriate bulletin board. Sorry the pic is not that great; it’s been quite cloudy and dark here. I’ll take a better pic in the morning at some point.

Please let me know what you think. I thought this might be my worst bulletin board yet, but apparently my Mom is right and I am too critical. Feedback from fellow teachers has been quite positive. This month I included some flip-up descriptions of Christmas in Japan vs in the U.S. Y’all can see the descriptions of Japan in the picture.

Christmas in Japan must be a beautiful and misty eyed time. Friends asked about you last night at the CCR party-same place as last year, lots of food, increasingly noisy as night went on. Jeremy hosted First Annual CCR Worst Holiday Sweater Award show – it was a lot of fun. Josh won with a royal blue sweater with polar bears eating candy canes. But I think it was really his passionate walk exhibiting his sweater that won it for him. I think An-Tuan came in second. Happy holidays!

Totally awesome bulletin board! The parade of Santas is a great choice — better than just a pic of one Santa. It shows the myth and the reality in one shot. The puzzles are great too — couldn’t see the bottom of the papers but do they have a list of the words in the puzzle? And are some of the words not circled? Flip-up is groovy — always always always the more interaction the better. Along with the Santas, the facts about Christmas in Japan — esp that it’s a minor holiday where people go to work and that there’s a somewhat traditional meal of KFC and cake — are right on.
What are you doing for January? I’ll bet you already planned out the rest of the school year — smart girl!
